Commodore LCD

This is the Commodore LCD machine which was not produced.  The president of Tandy told our then president of Commodore Business Machines that there was no money in "portable computers".

Mike Naberezny sent me a quality EPROM burner to read the LCD ROMS from this 25 year old prototype.  The files can be found at http://mikenaberezny.com/2008/10/04/commodore-lcd-firmware/

It looks like it would have blown the Tandy 102 out of the water. Were the integrated applications developed at CBM?  How comfy is the keyboard?

@digi_owl, this would have been the late 80's when the IBM PC (Intel 8088) was becoming a business standard.

Was cool seeing this at the VCF East in NJ...

I have played with CLCD using the emulator: http://commodore-lcd.lgb.hu/
And I immediatelly fell in love with it.
I like the concept of F1-F8 function keys, that are assigned dynamically to specific applications and menus.
This concept appeared later with Hewlett-Packard 200 LX in 1995. I owned one of those palmtops.
The ROM productivity software looks high quality: spreadsheet, text processor, terminal, file manager, etc. I wish it was part of Plus/4  (and not the ugly Tri-Micro 3+1 package).
All printer/RJ11/RS232 ports are available + barcode reader.
What a great portable machine!
This machine could have been a portable producity killer and should have never been cancelled...
