YAY! I have been looking

YAY! I have been looking forward to this!

I have to say:  you really captured the surprise and frustration when a program doesn't execute as expected! hahahahaa RRRRR!!!!  Followed by the satisfying YESSSSS!! when the issue is figured out!  Very REAL!

It's also fantastic how you got out of the way right off the bat some errors of the previous video.  Such a quality can endear your audience to you.

With that said (not being nitpicky), in Episode 2, you stated that the VIC II has a 40x20 text mode.  It's actually 40x25.

I love your videos!  Keep up the excellent work!

Nybbles and Bytes:  Are you having any thoughts about tackling the programming of the 8563/8568 VDC (80-column chip) for high resolution graphics in the future?

VDC Programming

I'm not really sure -- I might, depending on tooling and such. The VDC is a tricky beast to work with.

I think that if anyone would

I think that if anyone would has both the intelligence combined with the tenacity to tame the VDC beast, it's you!  That would definitely take your game to the true C128 next-level over C64 level.  After all, how tricky could two itty bitty registers with which to communicate with the VDC be? :P
An inspiration could be how the VDC, fighting tooth-and-nail with Bil et al in 1984/1985, was successfully tamed and boldly put in its permanent place--right next to the mighty VIC II--where it has been purring like a tame kitten for nearly 35 years.  Oh yes, it threatened, growled, and roared like a lion against Bil and his team--right up to the first day of CES. On that day, because Bil's HERDware had prevailed, it threatened one last lash-out against CP/M mode, but couldn't stop Von Ertwine and his disk editor.  History was made and now you and I have fully functional 128DCRs on our desks on this very day.
I know this kind of inspiration could drive you to also conquer the mighty VDC and show us how to do it as well.
(Did I lay it on a little thick or no???)  :)
