New To the 128 Scene

Hiya, everyone! I've been in the C64/Amiga scene since my first C64 back in the mid-80's. This is my first foray into C128 territory. I found out about the site from discovering Bil on YouTube a couple of weeks ago. It was the video about the C116. Anyway, I ran across a good deal on a C128D (metal case) and snatched it up. It arrived today packaged in a generic 23" HDTV box that looked as though it has seen better days. I grabbed my knife and started slicing through the layers of clear packing tape, opened the flaps and saw a managerie of packing materials including styrofoam, newspapers, bubble wrap and packing peanuts. It wasn't a pretty packing job but it definitely did the trick.
I dug through the packing and discovered my prize. I pulled it from the box and witness and dingy yellowy, brownish white metal box. It was simply nasty. Its going to be quite a job just getting this thing germ free. But, to my surprise, after taking the cover off the inside was almost pristine!
Now the downer: Yes, I got a good deal on it. No, it didn't come with a keyboard. So now I'm on the search for one. While I have quite a few C64 keyboards and a C64C keyboard, I don't have a C128 keyboard to use on it. So, any ideas or leads on finding one be greatly appreciated.

New toy

First off Congrats, it should be a fun toy to play with. take it apart and scrub it with dish soap, dawn works the best in my opinion. Retr0Brite for the yellow plastics (worked amazingly on mine) and you can get paint at the hardware store color matched to the case color. I saw a few keyboards on eBay recently but they were pushing $100. The ones I saw were pretty nice condition wise. One add on if it isnt already there, add a fan to the PSU! It will run much cooler and there are already the taps for the fan power. Cost me about $10 to add one to mine and it no longer gets as warm as it did.

I dont often volunteer parts

I dont often volunteer parts since my stash all has personal meaning, but I think I saw a dingy yellow C128D keyboard.  No promises but if I come across it I might give you a shout since I really dont have a use for an extra keyboard and there isnt any personal attachment.

Thanks for the info Jeff. Bil

Thanks for the info Jeff. Bil, that would be fantastic! However, I would like to offer you something for it if you do come across it. I hooked the Beastie up to my trusty 1702 yesterday. Lo and behold, it boot to the ready screen! So far so good. I've got some pics and will post them as soon as I figure out how. I've not used this forum system before that I can recall.
