VICE 128 / D9090

While an actual D9090 might be about as rare as hens teeth, and I am not seeking to find the real deal... The idea of tinkering around with a Commodore harddrive sounds nice enough, even if it would be entirely within an emulator...
Did a little bit of digging, and found out that VICE does provide at least some support, but does require ieee-488 interface cartridge image. I did find one, and manged to setup D9090 as a drive in the VICE settings, but didn't have the time to investigate any further... So I don't know if I can get it working or not... But one thing I do know, is that that particular cartridge image does force the emulator to go into C64-mode. And in a way that is not really surprising, as we all know, much of the "C128" software at the time, was not really so much of C128, but actually just C64 software, that indeed could be used in C128, in C64 mode. But the C128 is in many ways more capable machine, not that tinkering with (VICE emulator) C64 with a D9090 drive isn't nice as such, but having one that would let C128 run as is and use the full potential of that system would be better still.
In case if my actual question was lost, I am looking for a IEEE-488 interface cartidge image that could work with VICE emulator in full C128 mode, and not just in C64 mode.
Or some way to use emulated D9090 drive in C128...
